if you are still doubt, you can try http://www.blogger.com or http://wordpress.org/ first for practicing. my suggestion for practicing only because their service if free, so they can delete our blog any time if they think we broke their TOS.

I’ll publish a short guide soon enough. First , what is your subject of interest Todd ? Then, you need some tips about getting a good domain name . You have the right host already, as featured in this article. After that, all you need is write articles and let Google bring you traffic. Maybe I should write about how I did it in a dedicated e-book to blogging.
As long as you enjoy writing articles about your topic, you woN’t care about spending time on your blog and people will be interested by your passion. We can feel when someone is just doing it for the money. If you’re in just for the money, you’ll never make it.

Once you have your blog, you need to publish quality, original information. Of course, you need to make sure Google, Yahoo and all search engines know your blog exist. Just register your blog and post your URL to every social media and all the most popular directories. Also, start discussing in a some forums in your niche. Do not promote your blog there ! Simply put your URL in your signature and if you post quality comments, people will value your contribution and will sure visit your blog to have more info from you.
